In a houseful of toddlers & pets, you can start out having a bad day, but you keep getting detoured.

Graham's First Week

So this week has been quite an adjustment for me. I love being a mom but it's not quite as easy as some of you have made it look. I would share the details of Graham's birth but it was really quite uneventful (thankfully) & to be quite honest, I don't remember much of it.

Graham is a wonderful baby. I told Ben, a few days before Graham was born, that I didn't comprehend how moms of newborns say they never have time to do anything. I didn't doubt it but I just really didn't know until now. All of you moms out there can quit laughing because I get it now. It has taken me three days just to be able to post this between feedings & diaper changes. It's been hectic & I'm still trying to get the hang of things but I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. He is definitely my greatest blessing. Ben is absolutely wonderful with Graham & I love watching the two of them together.

Here are a few things about Graham & his first week:
  • He is a very happy baby & really only cries when he is hungry.
  • He has a little bit of jaundice but he does really well laying on the living room floor in the sunlight.
  • He is so easy to put to sleep at night... we swaddle him up & he will sleep for 4-5 hours.
  • He had his first doctor's visit on Saturday for a quick weight check... he weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz.
  • He makes the cutest squeaking noise. I've been trying to get it on video but haven't been able to yet.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this week:
